My Reflection on the Past 100 Episodes and What’s I’ve Learned
Wow. Well, the day is here, my friend. Today marks the 100th episode of the If You Know You Know podcast. Honestly, I can’t even believe it. When my marketing team told me it was coming up, I was like, wait, what? I immediately thought, alright, what major thought provoking topic can I discuss? I mean, it’s 100 episodes, right?
Like it has to be so groundbreaking, it seems, right? I went into that mindset of those influencers you see on Instagram and you know how they’ll go to the store and buy those shiny balloons that say 300 k or 500 k, whatever.
Either how many followers they have or how many downloads they have on their podcast, whatever it may be. Then my friend Jenny, she recommended that I listen to my very first podcast episode to see what has changed in the last 2 years and reflect upon it.
And I was like, okay, that’s a much better idea and very much more on brand for me. But I have to say it was kind of weird listening to myself on the radio on the way to work instead of my typical Joe Rogan podcast.
But I considered it a homework assignment, if you will. So I just kinda sat there and listened to my voice, which I had readily admit that I do not have a radio voice. So I appreciate you tuning in week after week to hear it.
Am I a Fraud? Thoughts When I First Started the If You Know You Know Podcast
You know, when I first started the podcast, I truly felt like a fraud.
Like, who am I to have my own podcast? Seriously, like, those gals and guys that buy those balloons and have all those downloads, like, and have 100 of thousands of followers, like, that was what I envisioned a podcaster to look like.
Or, like I said, someone famous like a Joe Rogan. And I was very nervous and tentative about the fact that no one would listen. And the true catalyst of why I started the podcast in the first place was I was so heavily shadow banned on social media.
Still am to this day, albeit not as bad as it once was, but still not great relative to the amount of followers I have.
The Need For My Own Space To Speak Freely
And I still have people to this day who will say, Oh, my gosh, you just showed up in my feed, you’ve been missing for months or gosh, even longer. But I knew I needed my own space to speak freely, as freely as you can speak on Spotify and Itunes.
I do put all of my podcasts on my website though, which obviously is my space, right? That’s my own platform. So I make sure that everything is on there, if heaven forbid, the powers that be on these larger platforms wanna rip it down.
But that is why I started this. And I figured, well, no one’s really seen what I’m saying on social media. I mean, there is this chance that no one’s gonna listen on this end either, but let’s go for it anyway.
100 Episodes… Here Are The Top 5
So I asked my podcast team to pull some numbers, and I have to say I am pretty dang proud of myself. We’re at almost 10,000 downloads of the If You Know You Know Podcast, and it has been listened to in 6 out of the 7 continents, 42 different countries and in over 1,000 cities.
It shouldn’t surprise you that my top episodes are all about lifting the veil on the corruption of our medical system, including my podcast of the topic of the RhoGam shot, and a 2 part interview with my dear friend, Shay Stanford, all about Big Pharma.
Another one is where I’m calling the shots and how it is with my episode on the demise of Beachbody, which obviously is a very big piece of my life. And then the other one is setting clear boundaries in your life, which is my spring cleaning the people in your life episode, which was actually the very first podcast episode I recorded, but it isn’t the first one that I released.
So check those out if you haven’t listened to them. They are fantastic episodes.
Listen To The Top 5 Episodes
Podcasting While Managing Other Responsibilities
And in the last 2 years, I have had the learning experience of getting outside my comfort zone, inviting and then obviously interviewing guests, some of which are some of the biggest influencers in the holistic space that you see on social media and probably follow.
Learning new software, how to edit and transcribe all my episodes and more, working with my team. I mean, they they put all of the pieces together, but I definitely have to sit here and figure out what’s gonna work, what doesn’t, what do we cut, the timing.
Obviously, when I interview, I have to come up with the questions. You know, it’s been recording between feedings and crying babies when I haven’t had childcare available or late night recordings when we need to be going to bed because I’m working full time now. It’s nuts.
I’m not gonna lie to you. It hasn’t always been easy as a mom of 2 young babies who works full time. For sure, like, it’s rough.
Juggling podcasting with motherhood and a full-time job
I definitely have burnt the midnight oil and recorded episodes at the last minute. But that’s kind of how I roll in life. If you know, you know, right? And I’ve had episodes dropping during holidays, birthdays.
I mean, heck, I even had them when I was actually giving birth at home. Okay, so I have not, really dropped the ball, so to speak, since I started. And this isn’t just a passion project, it’s become part of my brand and one that I’ve seen in real time making a true impact.
In my first episode, I talked about fear. So fear the an acronym meaning false evidence appearing real, and how you need to find facts to prove that your negative thoughts aren’t actually true.
Impact of the Podcast
At the time of recording this particular podcast, my RhoGam episode has over 1100 downloads alone. And just this week, a friend of mine who I met on social media, she gave birth to her baby boy.
She found me via that RoGM podcast, and she connected with me. And we chatted throughout her whole pregnancy. This was her very first baby, and she made the decision to deny the RhoGam shot despite doctors telling her the same thing that they told me, you know you’re killing all your future babies.
But she stayed firm, and she thanked me for all of the help and support that I gave her throughout her pregnancy. As a first time mom, you know, and going off my experience with having 2 babies, specifically too with RhoGam.
And it’s messages like that that show me that God gave me this platform for a reason. And those messages truly have helped me on some of my hardest days. The days where I’m not sure what to talk about, or I even slip back into that mindset of is anybody even listening and paying attention to this thing?
Getting frustrated with lack of downloads or SEO, search engine optimization not hitting or feeling like I didn’t get a lot of traction on an episode that I was so passionate about or all the things. Like just you name it.
And those messages that I received, this one, you know, particularly I got this week, those messages are the evidence that I have needed throughout this time period to get over it and prove that all of those fears that I have from time to time aren’t actually real.
And it’s funny how that message that I first talked about 2 years ago in my very first release podcast episode is still coming full circle to this day.
My Decision to Take a Break and Why
Now, fun fact fun fact about me is I’ve never taken a break from the podcast in the past 2 years, not a single week. Now when I knew that I would be approaching, say, my due date, right, something like that, or if I did know that holidays were coming up or I would be traveling, yeah, I would definitely record ahead of time, but still all of the editing and getting it up, etcetera, like, always was gonna be boom happening that week.
It never it never missed a beat. But this is my first Christmas with both of my girls. And it’s also my first holiday where I’m working full time and have 2 babies. Plus, recently, my dad’s health scares have kinda like put things in reality about time.
And if you’ve been here listening to me or know me, you know that one of the things that I preach the most is how time is the only resource you can’t get more of.
So, with that being said, I’m going to make sure that for the first time ever, I’m going to take a break during the holidays.
My personal reflections on time management and family
The idea of taking an official break scares me because, once again, if you know you know, I don’t know how to relax.
My husband always teases me about that even when we go on vacation. He’s like, do you ever stop? Like, does your brain ever just stop? And the short answer is no. I’m trying.
New year, new me. And when my podcast team and marketing team first approached me with the idea of taking a break, I was like, what? No, absolutely not. I don’t know if I can do that. Like, what if people forget about me? I know that’s, like, ridiculous. A 100 episodes later, I still worry about this stuff.
But circling back to the concept of negating the fears with facts, I have to, like, sit down and realize that that just isn’t true. And on top of all that, this is also the 1st year where I’m not part of the hustle culture of Beachbody where I am trying to hit direct sales goals and stressed to the all you know what in the Q4.
I mean, year after year, trying to hit ranks, trying to hit certain sales goals, financial goals, programs launching, or getting ready to launch in quarter 1, sending out team gifts, and trying to get elite points. Oh my gosh. All the things.
And although I won’t have that substantial income anymore come January, I really like have to say, ironically enough, because that’s stressful, right? Like, this and that income, but the relief of the pressure to do all of that is kinda nice. I’m being real. Right?
Official launch of my UGC – YoU Get Ca$h Course
And what I’m doing is I’m taking this time to officially launch my UGC workshop, which is now an evergreen course. So I have been running that course live and kinda doing it by the seat of my pants in the beginning, quite frankly, because I knew it was such valuable information.
I had to get it out there and kinda not making the information up as I go, but, like, organizing it or, you know, lack of organizing it. Right? I had all this information, and I had to put it together in a way that was cohesive and people could refer back to.
And so that’s what I’ve been doing, and it now is officially live. Meaning that you can do it at any time at your own pace.
You don’t have to wait for me to open up a workshop. It’s there.
UGC – YoU Get Ca$h Course
So instead of launching a $1,000,000,000 company’s fitness program, yet again, I’m launching my own, which is pretty freaking cool. And I’m also taking the next few weeks to complete my Amazon course, which is named Path to Passive Profits.
So this is the follow-up to my UGC workshop. And right now, my team and I we’re organizing everything just as we did with the UGC workshop, and we’re getting that up on my website too to launch in the beginning of 2025.
Because I know I’m not the only one losing income from Beachbody, and I feel like I’ve been called to help provide other streams of income for people.
New income streams and financial stability
Because I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Beachbody will not be the last to to go down.
We’ve seen in the last year how many direct sales companies have just totally dissolved. Whether it’s Beautycounter, Rodan and Fields, Saint, Who am I missing?
Who’s next on the chopping block? It’s gonna happen. And so I want everyone to be prepared. And I’ll repeat this to him blue in the face. UGC, Amazon on-site commissions, live social selling on these platforms like Amazon and TikTok that, like, literally think QVC, but on social media. That’s the future.
That is 100% the future, and I need you to stick with me, learn from what I have learned, and be an early adopter, and get on board with this. I’m telling you. This is where you need to be planted.
So that’s what I have upcoming in the next few weeks. That is how I’m ending my year. Will it be totally sitting back and doing nothing? Absolutely not. But it is going to be focused on family first.
It’s gonna be focused on my business, my business, not working and selling all these links for direct sales companies and affiliate. No, it’s about what I have to offer other people. Like we’re cutting out the middleman. We’re getting you cash.
Okay? We’re not making these other companies a ton of money while you get a measly 15, 20%, whatever. Right? Like, no, you are gonna be on the forefront of getting that cash injection immediately through these programs.
My Sincere Thanks and Gratitude to You – The Listeners
So I’m gonna be focusing on that and thinking about the direction I wanna go in in the New Year. I want to thank you for tuning into my podcast. Seriously, like, from the bottom of my heart, I am forever grateful for your support.
I pray that these 100 episodes have made a positive impact on you and whomever you have shared them with. My goal for the next upcoming year is to keep serving you with topics, and interviews, and all of that, whatever you are seeking.
And in upcoming weeks, I thought and this is an idea for my husband, so I can’t take credit for it. Is I thought it’d be really cool to pull from the archives, clips from the best of the best, right?
The best interviews I’ve done, the most powerful podcast episodes that I’ve recorded, little snippets. And then from there, like, encourage you to go back and listen to that full episode. Maybe you haven’t heard it before, maybe you need to hear it again, whatever it may be.
But I just thought it was a really cool idea because I have been blessed with the opportunity to speak with some really, really influential people. And the knowledge they drop is is just fantastic. So it’s it’s an idea that came from my husband and it was perfect.
And I think it’s a great way to round out the rest of the year. And for you to, you know, kind of relax with me, and and get all this good information going into a new year. And that’s what’s to come.
